My hostfamilyletter :D

         Hey Leute :) Ich dachte mir ich könnte euch dochmal mein Hostfamilyletter zeigen, für all die, die interessiert, wie ich es verfasst habe, und selbst noch wenig Ideen haben. aber nun zu meinem Letter:

                             Dear hostfamily

although we are not familiar to one anonther it is very kind that you  took the time to read this letter. In order to give you an image of me I like to introduce you into my life.

My name is Luise and it would be a pleasure to get to know you better as my possible hostfamily. I am 14 (jetzt 15) years old and live with my mum, who is divorced to my dad in a house in a city near ***, called *** (population nearly xxxxx).

My mum work as a medical doctor and my dad is computer engineer. I have  an older sister, who is attending the university in ***, but has  moved out. We spend a weekly evening together, on that we cook, study or play games. This is an important time for me. Also we like to go visit the cinema or concerts together.

On the weekends we live with my mother’s new boyfriend and his family.  We are all getting along great, also with his daughter, who is of the same age like me.  A special family time I like is for example on Sundays, when the whole family is having lunch together and sits after lunch together and talks. We are not religious, but it would not be a problem to going to the church.

During the week I visit the **** secondary school. (Wenn ich diesen Teil so lassen würde, wüsstet ihr sofort, auf welche Schule ich gehe ;), deshalb lasse ich ihn weg) My favorite subjects in school are currently PE, Music, Drama and English. I love speaking English and that is clearly a reason, why I want to make an exchange year - speaking better the language and  understand English speaking people better. I have good grades, but I could do better. My classmates are pretty cool and we all have a good relationship. During the lunchbreak we have a lot of fun and laugh together.

My best friend Ann, who is also in my grade, would describe me as a funny, lovely, curious and sometimes crazy friend. Other things I do with friends is for example playing music, making videos or going to the cinema. Speaking of music, this takes a large amount of my interests. I take guitar lessons and play the piano. I like to listen to music, mostly Alternative and Rock music.

I like doing sports , for example playing basketball, volleyball and actually I play American Football. But do not worry. We play the soft alternative with flags. Maybe I can tell you anytime more about this. Also I will patiently learn all there is about icehockey, I would also try it out.In the winter my favorite sport is definitely snowboarding. But sadly I can do this just one week a year, because then my family makes winterholidays in the alps, which is every time one of the best weeks during the year. It makes so much fun and I am always sad when this week is over.

Like all teenagers I like watching TV and movies, also I try to watch some original versions, to improve my English, for example Harry Potter and the Hunger games. I like surfing the internet, but not to excessive.

My decision for Canada was always ahead, because I read a lot about and saw many pictures and videos. But that is just on a screen, but I want to see all of this in real life. I am very enthused about the beautiful landscape and the many-sidedness of your home country. Maybe you can show me some of them. Also I want to experience the school system, which is different to ours and in my opinion  better than the German one.It is also very important to gain cultural experience. In this way I can say I really want to be an exchange student in highschool, because the family life is more lovely and more intense than living in a dorm in college. This is why I want it now and not after the diploma. After returning from Canada, I want to finish the German secondary school and attend the university. Even though I am undecided what I want to study but an academic education is a good base I think. Maybe Canada can inspire me what I will do  later. I just want to make the best of my life and I want to start with the exchange to Canada.

Like all people I have some bad habbits. Even though I help at home, for example cleaning my room, the kitchen, taking out the trash, washing my clothes and clearing the dishwasher. But  my mother sometimes has to remind me to do it and in special situations there is backtalk.

I am not this girly girl who needs one hour in front of the mirror with tons of make up and am also not mobilphone and internet addicted. I am a lucky, funny and casual girl , who likes to talk but also knows when to listen to. Furthermore I would say that I am creative, unique, spontaneous, self-confident and honest person, because I despise phoney and liars.

This is only a letter, but for me it is all of the impressions that I can give you. Even though it is just a handwritten (ja ich habs handschriftlich gemacht)  piece paper at the moment, it might turn out to be the beginning of a very special relationship, which could last more than just one year.
