A very canadian christmas

Hey guys. Merry Christmas everyone and sorry that I'm 363 to early ;) On Monday we've been again to GP, to get some christmas shopping done and I bought me some really nice winterboots there.  Our big christmasday was on the 24th (usully it's on the 25th. But because my hostparents are divorced, the kids we're a part if christmas here and the other part there).  So we made a big christmas dinner with Turkey, Rotkohl (red cabbage,  I made it myself and I'm really proud about that),  Klöße (no clue for a english word but my mum send me a mix do I could make them)  potatos and gravy.  It was really delicous and nearly tasted like home.  Speaking of home.  On the 24th I also skyped with my parents, even if my parcel haven't arrived yet.   In the evening we went to a Nazarene chruch and this was the best christmas mass I've ever been to. In the beginning the christmas story was read and then peoole were talking about it from different point of views (for example Maria, Angel)  and between everyone we sang a song.  I guess Holy Night is one of my favorites together with Carol of the bells, Angels we have heard on high and God Merry Rest gentlemen.   (check out the covers by Pentatonix they are awesome) .  After that we went back home and opened presents.  I got some winterstuff like socks or gloves and the book Papertowns by John Green.   So on the 25th was a normal day.  On the 26th we went to a lake really close to us and then there was a bonfire and we played hockey on a lake.  Really Canadian :)  so my Christmas was different but still a really good one.  (and I had snow)

on our way to the lake.  Doesn't this just look awesome?
Here you can see how deep the snow is

Christmaspartys and Last week of school

On the weekend were two christmasparties. The first one was on Friday from church. We had a potluck (I brought meat balls) and after we all ate way to much, we went boggening at a familys house in town. For a explaination. The guy was sitting on a quad and then there were two sleights on a rope behind it. It was so fun.  We also had cookie pie there and the best ice cappuchino in the world (yep I´m starting to like coffee). After that we went back to church and ate more food and played games. We also had a christmas exchange, and I won a sunday kit (a icecream set with chocolate sauce, marshmallow, and lots of toppings.) On Sunday we had a christmasparty from 4H (I don´t know if I talked about that I have my own beef. That´s the club who meets every month to talk about that).  So we went skating and then we had lots of pizza and cake too.     :3

So let´s come to  my last school week this year. In Pop Culture we watched the Voice (aka Realityshow   because this is our new topic) and on Thursday and Friday The grinch. In Bandclass we practiced chirstmas songs, so we played Angels we have heard on high, Do you wanna build a snowman and God marry rest ye merry gentlemen on Monday in a oldfolks home, Wednesday in the Elementary school and on Thursday in the Junior High and High school. Even if my arm hurted really bad after all of that it was a lot of fun.  ( there will be a video soon, with all the songs, because I recorded them :)
In Math we did (obviously) Math. But now i finally get the topic, I didn´t checked in Germany.   In Gym we went the whole week to the swimming pool. And the cool thing is we could do whatever we want. So I spend my time in the hottube, slide or a rope to jump in the water. It was really fun. On Thurday we also had a basketball game. I had after two quarters 4 fouls (you can´t play if you have 5) and believe me I didn´t meant to foul.  So in the last two quarters I had to be really careful, how I defend. (and I was always scared  when the ref whistled or something that this is my 5th foul), and in the end I didn´t got another foul and we won :D
On Friday was the last day of school  and it was just awesome. All classes were just 45 minutes (like in Germany)xD In Pop Culture we watched the grinch and got our candygrams (it´s a little message from friends, who wanna sent it to you  with a candy stick on the back). In Band we got popcorn and watched Micky Mouse Christmasstories. In Math we did ....  Math    and in Gym class we didn´t do anything at all (just shooting around with basketballs). Then was lunch! And guess what  we got food for free. And not just anything. We got dumplings, ham, turkey and cookies and cake and really really delicous juice. I mean seriously why don't we have that in Germany?. Then I gave to my best Canadian friends christmas presents and they were just perfect :D.  In the afternoon we got freetimeactivities and I decided to make my own christmas stocking. It took me two hours but I´m pretty happy with the result. In the last 10 minutes I was jaming a little bit around with some people. And that was my last day of school. I think it was a really good one. Now we have christmas break and I´m really exited about the Canadian Christmas :)

Oh what I also have to mention. You remember my poinsettia and beef jerkey fund raise? I fundraise so much , that my basketball fee is instead of 500 just 93 dollars . Awesome eh? Most of them I already delivered and tommorow I will do the last ones and I´m really glad that the poinsettias stayed alive till Sunday.
And the last thing . I finnished my christmas shopping this Wednesday and that´s awesome because usully I get it done on the 24th.
 christmaslunch at school ^.^

EDMONTON

Last Wednesday we had a schooltrip to Edmonton.  I had to get up at 5:30 to be at the school at 6:30. Then we had a 5 hours busride in front of us!  It went buy actually pretty  fast and I got to see a nice sunrise.  When we arrived in Edmonton we first went to the Citadel theatre and it's AWESOME!  There are everywhere plants and even a waterfall.  That's just so cool.  We watched "A christmas carol " and it was a really cool play about a grumpy man who doesn't believe in Christmas spirit but in the end he changes.  I really liked the special effects, the singing and everything.(even if I didn't understoodd everything).  After the play we had to wait for the bus and then we went to the Kingsway mall.  We had about two hours.  And first I walked threw the whole mall, just to know where everything is.  I bought some Harry Pottet Merchandise, Christmas Presents and the best pizza in Canada so far.  There was also a really good chocolate store.  But I just bought Ice cream and no chocolate (and I still ask me why) After I just had 30 minutes  left, I thought I would be done but then I saw that there was another part of the mall, that I haven't seen before!  And there were so many shops I wanted to go to. So I could just rush threw the stores and in the end I didn´t bought anything. After that we had to go 5 hours back. That was my day. It was really cool and now I can officially tell everyone I´ve been to Edmonton (the airport on my arivial day doesn´t count I guess).
I also made a video of this day

My new beard, snowboard and hostbrother

Well let's see what happened this week. In band class we are playing right now three christmassongs.  And one of these songs we performed in the school office on Friday.  My awesome mum also sent me a advent calendar so now I have something to open every day. In this week I also re read Mockingjay and now I'm reading percy Jackson and Harry Potter. On Tuesday and Wednesday I also went christmas shopping for my german family and on Wednesday I went to the post office to send it.  And man that's expensive!  I payed for one parcel 46$ and because the other one would have been 53$ I decided to not send it. On Friday we also had Youthgroup and we played threw the christmas play and played games.  It was fun as always :) I also worked on a iglu with my hostbrother and right now you can already sit in there :)
This Saturday morning I skyped with my mum, tried to do my homework and then we went to Grande Prairie (GP)  because my hostmum is pregnant and we were not sure of she get her baby on Saturday or not. So when we arrived im GP we first went to a Western Store and they really have lots of boots!  After that my hostdad dropped me of at a big sports store
It's huge and half of the store eas just hockey stuff!  and I found a (second hand) snowboard wirh binding for just 189$!!! That's so awesome and I still can't believe I have a own snowboard now (because this was one of the things I imagined I would buy here in Canada and now I have it)  And I had really luck that I had enought money with me.  I also found a helmet amd gloves but this willl be my Christmas and birthday presents.  Then we went eating in a restaurant and after that I got to see a canadian hospital for the first time, even if my hostmum didn't got her baby that day. So even if we didn't got candy on Nikolaus (like it's usual in Germany)  I had a really good Nikolaus at all (I mean I got a snowboard that's so awesome ^.^ In the night we headed back home (my hostdad and me)  and on Sunday morning I went "snowboarding " We have in the backyard a small small hill and the it was not bad and at least I have good opportunities to practice my jumps ;) after that we went back to GP and on the way we ate at Tim Hortons and I ate a Pretzelbread (Laugenbrötchen) after 5month or so.  I also got a honey crumbler (Spritzkuchen)  so I had a very German Lunch.  Then we went to GP and in the evening I had another little hostbrother ^.^.  and he's really cute.  Then for supper we ate at Mama Panda all you can eat (oh man I was so hungry)  and then we were home around 11. (but my hostmum had to stay in the hospital because well she has a newborn baby :)
So I didn't got that much of sleep this weekend but ot was anyway a pretty good one :)
I guess I forgot to shave ;) #Movember
