Review of my first semester

Hey guys.  I'm so sorry, that I haven't updated something in the last four weeks.  You should think, because I had no school, I had all the time of the world, but I was to lazy and not many exiting things happend.  But I will tell you how I liked my old classes (because a new semester started)  and what my new ones are.    In my first semester (which is already over.  I can't believe it!)  I had Pop culture, Band, Math and Gym.  I hated Pop culture, because it was a group work class and I hate group work, because I usully do the most and the other ones are just lazy.  But in General it was about the popular things in the last decades like music, fashion or film (so we watched some movies and did some creative things, which was ok pretty cool).   Then I had Band.  It was a windinstrument class and I played the Euphoneum (it's like a Tuba, just smaller) .  I really liked this class, because I could learn a new instrument and some new things about music.  We played lots of things like christmas carols, the national theme, harry potter theme or colours of the wind (poccahontas).   If you have the chance of going to band.  Do it!  You won't regret it.  My third period was Math.  First I was in Math 20-2.  It was the easier math with more words and it was kind of complicated, so I switched to the harder class Math -1 (harder means they are not doing this confussing word stuff and actual calculate).  This class was fun too, even if the most things were just things, I've already learned lqst year in Germany.  But still I learned some new things and finally understand some other things, I didn't understood in Germany.   It was also cool that we had projects like a spraypark (waterpark) , where we get to know parabolas better and had to build one ourself.  We also had to do a quadratic formula song.  And every time I listen to the song rude, this version is in my mind. So in the end I can say Canadian math class is easier, more fun and i don't know how I will survive Math in Germany :s (oh and just an example.  We have the sine and cosine graphs in grade 10, in Canada in grade 12.) and onr more thing, in Canada they are allowed to used graphable calculators. I will miss them in Germany (bit therefor Canadians have no Tafelwerk, however they survive).  My last class of the day was gym.  And it's way different from Germany.  While we are doing all the athletic things and nearly never play games, we did this here nearly all the time.  For example Volleyball, Basketball, Dodgeball, Softball (it's like baseball, just with a  bigger ball, but I don't like it.  The rules suck).  We also went to a gym to work out, danced Zumba one time, went to the swimming pool (and could do whatever we want.  So no forced swimming like in Germany)  and skated.  It was a fum class, exept for the end, whem ot got boring for me and wr played all the things I didn't like.    So this were my first semester classes.  I can't promise, that (if you should choose this classes)  they are exactly the same, but they will probably still be good. In my second semester I have English (also called LA for language arts),  Industrial arts (so I'm gonna build things with wood), Chemistry and CTS (that's an online course do I can pick, what I wanna learn between a bunch of things.  I decided to take Psychology first, because I think it's really interesting.)  And to my final grades.  Pop culture 90%, Band 98%, Math 80%(I had an average of 89% but then I screwed up my final exam with 66%  and Gym 85%. I think this are pretty good marks :) So this was my class review.  Now let's see what interesting happend in the last two weeks...
We nearly had no school for two weeks.  In the first week I just had to go monday for the math exam, and the following week there was a teachers convention from Wednesday to Friday,so no school either :D.
My hostbrother stayed at his friends house and when we picked him up, his friends mum showed us her sheep farm.  Some sheep are really adorable and they also had puppies (little baby dogs)  and they were sooo cute ^.^ Oh right.  Last Sunday after church, we went to a old folks home to sing with them (I played the guitar).  It was pretty good, exept for that I didn't knew the flat chords like A b or E b. First I thought it's the same like Am or Em.  But it's not!  I played with a guitar from church and there was q really cool guitar pick with a maple leaf on it.  And guess what?  I can keep it ^.^ I like to collect cool guitarpicks and now I have a really cool canadian one :D.   I'm sorry if everything is a bit messed up right now, but my brain just remembers things from the last two weeks. In school, they also took graduation pictures and I will be on the wall on school, where all the graduates are.  Isn't that cool.  And I got to wear the head and the gown (if it's called like that),  what was pretty cool. Also I started watching the anime Death note amd it's so good abd addicting xD and i started to dicover new songs from Ed sheeran and he's such a good musician.   What I also wanna mention in chemistry we were playing a game on our Smartphones (we had to log into a website and then everyone played, isn't that cool, why don't we have that in Germany?)  and before the quiz started we watched a crash course video ( provably no one knows what that means, so I will explain.  Vlogbrothers is a youtube channel from my favorite author John Green and his brother Hank.  They are part of a nother channel (crash course)  where they explain things from chemistry, physics, history or biology and it's really good.  So I had my little fan girl moment in class :D

Ok I think that's all I'm running out of information.  One last thing we had a blizzard here, so now we have snow again.  But because of the snowstorm our basketball tournament got cancelled, what sucked, because we just have three left, and i eventually can't go to the one, because my 4H speech, is on the same weekend (4H speech is, where we have to make a speech to a interesting topic).  We will see how it goes.
I hope you all have a good week and hopefully some snow too :)
